Emilia Wickstead F/W 12.13 London via Vogue.
“The designer from New Zealand confirms her reputation as a couturier with a penchant for minimalism by presenting a collection that revolves entirely on a bon-ton type of glamour that looks with a nostalgic glimpse to the past. Her muse rubs elbows with high society and is used to attend social events, hence the abundant offering of garments worthy of the wardrobe of a first lady who opts for demure ensemble with a timeless appeal. There are no eye-catching prints – with the exception of a few cocktail dresses with patterns inspired by the equestrian world – nor excessively loud colours. Starting from the daywear to minimalist shifts, outfits are generally low-key and sober. Once again, for the evening, Wickstead favours a 50’s inspired formal and gracious glamour brightened by precious fabrics.”
